Kyoto Events July 2025
July sees the most important festival in Kyoto’s yearly calendar take place: the Gion Matsuri. There are preceding events leading up to the big day, showing off the spectacular yamaboko (parade floats) that will travel in procession through downtown Kyoto on the festival day itself. Ohanabo
Ohanabo is a charming mid-budget ryokan a short distance north of Kyoto Station. With amazingly helpful staff, great food and nice rooms, Ohanabo is one of the best ryokan values in Kyoto.
Onishiya Suishoen
Suishoen is one of our favorite places to stay at Kinosaki Onsen. It’s just a bit outside of the town center, but the onsen baths are great, the rooms are nice, the people are friendly and the food is excellent. Oh, and the rates and very reasonable for an onsen ryokan.
Exploring Fushimi – Kyoto’s Sake District
